This is a review of the Britax B-Safe infant car seat. I am a mom with two small children and have owned and/or tested over 30 car seats in the past 5 years. Overall, the Britax B-Safe is a wonderful infant seat that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. It is very similar in features and price to the Chicco Keyfit 30 Car Seat, so I'll give a basic comparison to help parents decide between the two.

I love Britax car seats and have been using them for my children for the past ten years. The B-Safe was our first experience with a Britax infant car seat and I am rather disappointed in this seat. My first issue with the seat is the car seat base. When the seat arrived the base was broken right out of the box. Britax customer service is great and after having to email photo proof that the base was indeed broken, they agreed to send a replacement. The replacement base was defective and one of the level indicators did not work. Customer service wasn't exactly willing to replace the base for a fully functional one at first, but after I insisted that I wanted them to honor their warranty and replace it with one free of defects, they agreed to send another replacement. Turn around time from when the seat was delivered to when I was actually able to use it with the base was a full month. Very nice seat, detachable carrier from the base means that you can install the base onto your car (or preferably, have a spouse or family member pre-install it while the mother-to-be is waiting for the kid to be born!) and then it's all a matter of snapping the carrier to the base.

I personally like the darker color, it means that this will not look dirty so easily, and also means the cover blocks out sunlight better.

Sturdy handle, the only thing of note is that I've seen some where the handle is twisted 90�, so that a person can carry the baby carrier for a bit and not have to rotate the arm/wrist. But let's be serious, it's not like Britax is intending the parent to be carrying around a kid for long, that's what strollers are for! Therefore, no minus points for that small quibble.

Overall, still highly recommended. This is the gift you hint at to get your friends and family to get for your baby shower! Of course, try to get the stroller as... Read more

Between myself and my friends, it has been impossible to find the PERFECT stroller: lightweight; maneuvers like a Lexus; comfortable for child; cleans like a dream; folds compact and easily; has an extra large basket; and is affordable. Stuff that dreams are made of, right? Everyone I know who is of considerable means (i.e. they're loaded) has more than one stroller to meet these multiple needs. The Britax Chaperone stroller, like so many others, meets some, but not all of a mom's needs.

First, Britax makes awesomely awesome carseats (disclosure: I own 2 of them) and this stroller is designed as a travel system with the Britax Chaperone infant carseat. (It does also adapt to other infant carseats.) That means it's CONVENIENT! You snap the carseat in and transfer the baby in and out of the car without having to wake them up!

I do not usually write reviews but since I made a mistake buying this stroller due to there not being enough information/reviews out there yet I figured I would try to help other parents and save them the time and frustration I have had.

Although I liked this stroller in pictures, now that I have received it I am returning it.

First the good, The stroller has lots of great features including 2 cup holders, one hand fold, easy to access storage basic and a 5 point harness. However it is lacking in the comfort area. The seat has very little padding leaving a lot to be desired when it comes to comfort. It also has bars near the childs head that are not covered by any padding when it is in a semi reclined position. I was willing to purchase extra cushioning for the seat and modify the padding until I realized what I found to be the biggest design flaw, the seat cushioning is not washable, just wipeable. I'm gonna give back by writing a review. This is a new product and I couldn't wait for it to be released. I ordered this but was wary as I hadn't heard anything, couldn't find a review, and was going merely on faith. I love my Cowmooflage Chaperone Carseat and I hoped I would love this stroller just as much.

Jackpot! I love this stroller, flat out simple as that. I will admit that I am a Mamma to 5 and I have never had a travel system....so perhaps I am enchanted with that fact alone.... but I just love this stroller regardless. I feel like everything was well thought out... made well and I have no complaints. The stroller is full size... comparable to the size of the Inglesina Zippy which I loved when I owned one. I love the Cowmooflage fabric.

I have had my stroller for a few months now. I love it still. I have owned the Graco travel system, a BoB stroller, a MacLaren Triumph and borrowed a friends Stokke stroller for several months. The Contours Options 3 Wheeler is my favorite. I have an older child (3 years old) with physical hardships.
*I love that she can get in and out when she feels like walking.
*I LOVE THAT THE HANDLE BAR IS HIGH, as I'm 5'10 and hate bending over a lot for other strollers. This stroller has a wide wheel base in the back, which is great because I don't kick it. There have been a few times it's been hard to get through clothes racks at the store, but other than that it's fine. It did take me a few times using it to adjust to the width.
*I love how easily it pushes regardless if the front wheel is locked.
*My daughter loves her own cup holder, as do I. I love that the parent tray is sturdy with 2 drink holders and a middle pocket. I wish it had a locked cover like the Jeep... Read more

... is it better than our 5 year old Graco Metrolite?

First of all, after unpacking the box, you'll realize there are 17 pieces you have to put together by snapping and/or securing with screws. Fortunately, one simple screwdriver does the trick and the whole assembly took around 30 minutes. (I will note that I am used to assembling lots of things from furniture to small engine yard machines.) All the pieces were present in the box and there were even some screws/pins given as extras.

The stroller is quite sturdy and moves around very easily. The frame will even stand by itself when folded since it can balance on it's third wheel.

Some of the good features of this stroller:
1. Two cup holders and tray for the adult, one cup holder for the kid.
2. The handle bar can be reached easily by TALL people.
3. The universal car seat holder fit my Graco Snugride just fine.

Plusses:
~ Absolutely darling, great color and design (I get compliments all the time!)
~ Good directional controls, i.e. you can turn quickly and easily
~ Rear & Front facing options, which is a big bonus

Minusses:
~ Awful to put together (unhelpful & confusing b/w photos in manual)
~ Wheels look pneumatic (rubber tires filled with air), but they are really a hard plastic with a thin rubber stripe in the center
~ Not a super-smooth ride because of hard wheels
~ Stops short on uneven curbs (can't "climb" a ledge more than 2")

Overall, not a bad stroller, but I could see some easy improvements from the manufacturer, beginning with the manual. I came from using the Jeep Liberty stroller which was super for climbing curbs & ledges because it had real pneumatic tires. I was disappointed that this didn't ride better, but I'm supposing it's mainly because of these cheaper tires. It's just going to be something to get used to.
