This review is from: Evenflo Discovery 5 Infant Car Seat Base (Baby Product) The item I purchased was listed as "New". Car seats for infants have an expiration date and can only be used for 5 years. The "New" base I purchased was produced in 2003 and has expired, it is now 2010. The seller will not return my e-mails for a return or refund. The money I spent was money wasted and when you have a new baby every penny counts. Don't buy from this seller unless you are 100% positive the item is new and not expired. I didn't need the car seat because we bought one and just use the one car seat with several bases so we don't have to move the base from one car to another. It's also great because you don't have to pay shipping on it if you choose the super saver shipping. A+ Haven't had any issues with the base. It does come in the manufacturer's box with a picture of what's inside, so if you buy it as a gift for someone and don't want them knowing what it is, make arrangements for it. And I thought it was great. SO I ordered it. the day it arrived my husband and I installed it and went for a drive. So far.... 1. we havent had any problem with the straps twisting 2. Our baby looks very comfortable, her head isnt pushed forward or flopping around. 3. the car seat cover IS removable It is kinda big...for those of you with 3 in car seats it would be hard to fit them all in one car We are very pleased with this car seat, and so is our little girl she looks so happy in it (before we got this car seat she would scream and cry the whole way!) Dont listen to those peope who gave this car seat a bad review, because it is a great car seat, especially for the money! They don't seem to sweat as much in these, when I take them out their backs are not as wet as they used to be when they were in their infant car seats and it gets hot out here in California. It's true that their heads fall forward when they fall asleep, I've noticed it more on one of the twins who is a little smaller than the other. The other one kind of leans to the side and his head rests on the seat. But I just purchased a couple of childrens neck pillows found in Target or even Avon carries them. This seemed to do the trick and honestly only the pricier car seats are going to prevent this from happening. I've heard that the Britax Marathons hold the head pretty well but personally I can't afford to pay over $200 each when I paid about $180 for 2 of these. This one reclines, does not have anything on the arm rest for him to pull off, installs easily. It is a pretty big seat so if you plan to move it from car to car it might not be great for that. The cup holder is pretty sweet, it pulls out so he can reach it but can be pushed in to leave room for the middle seat. The side holders are too far under the seat to be useful for him but the still could hold stuff. The harness strap is amazing. No more undoing the strap and rethreading it to raise the height! Just pull a bar and the whole pillow and straps move up and down. Similar to how you move your car seat forward and backward with the bar under your seat. We liked the ease of collapsing the stroller, the fabric used (not plastic-y, stiff or unbreathable, but comfortable and pleasant), the hand grasp on the carseat (our sons actually had more of a padded grip), the peek window in the stroller canopy, the look, the large basket underneath, the storage box on top and the ride. When we were expecting our daughter, my husband and I looked into the same model. The carseat on our first was getting ready to expire, and we had put the stroller through a lot by the time our son outgrew it (2 cross-country airline trips, two moves and an active baby who like to put his feet up on the tray and push on it), so it wasn't faring too well, and were excited to find this pink one!
