If buying a fancy and expensive stroller crossed your mind, don't waste your time or money. Several years ago, we were looking for a stroller for my first child. We look over 50 different brands and models all over SoCal, no kidding (my husband is VERY picky). We found this one, overall was the best for our necessities. Let me tell you, after 3 years the ONLY complaint that I have is you can't overload the basket at the bottom because it falls. But hey, this stroller survived 2 kids and still looks awesome for a third one! BEST PURCHASE EVER!! My kids loved it, I love it and after this baby I am going to sell it on Craig List...that's called "GOOD INVESTMENT"

We bought this car seat and stroller duo because we were trying to save money, and boy are we happy we did! The snugride car seat is one of the safest rated car seats and is not too heavy to carry around. The stroller maneuvers really well because of its large wheels and is a pleasure to take walks with. It has a huge basket underneath and reclines fully so that even newborns can go for a stroll. The car seat clips on and off very easily which makes transferring a sleeping baby no big deal. I especially like the convenient cell phone/keys compartment on the handle. All in all, this is a great product for a great price!

I'm a first time mom and have used this for 3 months now. I love the car seat. It is nicely padded and sturdy. It fits well in most shopping carts and can fit in a restaurant booth. It is easy to clean. It is a little heavy, I usually have to use both hands to carry it but it isn't impossible. I really love the stroller!! It has such a smooth ride and maneuvers like a dream. It has great clearance. I have only used it with the car seat, which is securely strapped to the stroller. The overlapping hoods keep baby dry, even in a down pour. There is a clear sun shaded portion of the stroller hood that lets you see baby while you are on the move. No need to stop and check. The only thing that wasn't immediately obvious was the latch that keeps the stroller compact (it is a little red piece of plastic that swings up and hooks around a notch, it isn't very clear in the instructions). My husband & I had the hardest time picking a stroller/car seat combo. This was our first baby, so we had no idea what qualities would be important to us. Safety is obvious, and price was of course a factor, but what else? Lightweight? Easy to set up & take down? Comfort for us & baby? Which mattered more & which "cons" should we give the most credence to? We went to many stores & tried out every model, then we'd come home and read the Amazon reviews, and the ones we liked would have negative comments that would make us doubt our decision, so we'd start the search all over again. It seemed like no one liked their stroller/car seat.

I'm sure some of you out there are having the same trouble, so for those of you hung up like I was on the negative comments, I would like to give you a different perspective on some of the other reviews. First, since I'm only rating the stroller and not the entire system, I can't give it 5 stars. The stroller deserves 5 stars though. Our infant was too big for the car seat when we bought it so we haven't had a chance to use it yet. We bought this system because we wanted the stroller but since it didn't come without the car seat we just gave in and bought the whole thing and decided to sell our old seat.

Anyway, the stroller is amazing. It had all the amenities we were looking for. We did not want a large stroller or a small umbrella stroller so we were looking for a mid-size. My husband is 6 ft tall and I am 5'5" so the adjustable handle is perfect for both of us. My son is tall and big and is 9 months old. He is off the charts for height and is in the 95th percentile for weight and he fits in the seat fine. IDK why another parent said his/her child didn't fit in it. I'd personally love to see that myself.

After spending a lot of time testing strollers in store, this one was absolutely my choice. My husband and I are both very tall and this is so comfortable to push around relative to height. I was actually delighted by how light the car seat/carrier was, and I thought the fold up was a breeze compared to some of the bulky Gracos we tested. Positioning the seat for forward facing use (without the carrier) was also very easy. The car base is extremely secure and clicks into place so you can tell its in there properly. Frankly when it comes to ease of use I can't imagine anything else better than the Cortina system. I have read some places that the carrier does not fit in shopping carts. That does not bother me, we use the baby carrier or sling when shopping or just take the stroller in and put items underneath in the storage compartment. As a first time mom I am very impressed with this item and consider it a great value for the price.

We now have two strollers:
The Bugaboo Cameleon bought in 06 and the BabyOrbit 07. I wanted to buy the Orbit last year but it was not available at the time + there were no reviews in comparison to all that's been written about the Bugaboo so we coughed up the coinage and bought a Cameleon. We received the BabyOrbit 2 months ago and here is the difference for those who wonder about the two strollers.
Right out of the box the Orbit was dead easy because it was already pre assembled-no tools- no watching a DVD or reading assembly instructions.Things we were unsure of were well laid out in the photo handbook that neatly zips away in the baby seat. We had to assemble things with the Bug and the line diagrams were a bit harder to read.

Impressions:

Like most others, I did a whole lot of research before purchasing this stroller. Our baby is 8 months old now, and here is our review thus far:

PROS:
1. One-hand folding of the stroller - super fast, and easy. This was one of the main reasons I bought the Orbit, since before becoming a mother, I used to dread waiting for a car space that was occupied by someone trying to put their baby in the car!

2. Safety - the infant car seat is by far one of the safest around, as most safety inspectors will attest to. I feel a lot better knowing that my precious cargo is secure. The only thing is that your baby may be craning to see get a better view of what is outside the egg-shell shape of the car seat.

3. Rotating base - this is great for use in larger restaurants and just to provide your bub a change of scenery once in a while. Not to mention that it's helpful to be able to use the same base between stroller and car (but I figure that's a given)... Read more

If you don't want to read the rest of the review, here are three huge benefits of the Orbit Baby stroller/seat system that may not be very obvious just by looking at it: base installation, one-hand folding and the locking mechanism.

1. Base installation. It's the easiest, simplest, safest base installation I have seen. You can install it with the seat belt or with the LATCH system, but in either case you don't have to stand on the base or pull and tug on belts like a mad man. All you have to do is turn a knob a few times and that's it. Even the wimpiest guy (myself included) can do it right the first time. The person at the hospital checking the installation commented that he's never seen an Orbit installed improperly. The best thing though is that it fits in my BMW convertible so I don't have to turn it in an exchange it for a minivan.
