This review is from: JL Childress Ultimate Car Seat Travel Bag, Black (Baby Product) Our Ultimate bag has survived multiple trans-Atlantic flights and 6+ Caribbean/European/US domestic flights per year since 2004 (it's now Aug. 2008). It has a few rips which are completely the fault of the airline (one looks like an actual knife cut it), which I've mended with duct tape, and still it keeps going. I absolutely cannot recommend it enough for its durability. By comparison, we purchased a 'cheap' alternative last year for our 2nd child. That thing was absolutely destroyed in one single trip overseas. The Ultimate Travel Bag is head and shoulders above its competition. I CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. If you want something with wheels - I see that's an alternate model now. I would warn, however, the "other" bag we bought, it had wheels - and those were the first things the airlines popped off. The bags have been through many trips and have held up very well. The bag fits many different types of carseats -- including our Graco infant seat & base and also our Britax car seat for the older child. It's pretty comfortable to carry on your back and wheel the rest of your luggage. When I was pregnant with our 2nd child, my husband put the back pack on and a baby carrier on the front. Both made getting through the airport escalators, etc. very easy. We don't use strollers on trips -- it's easier to travel without them. Mom tip -- I like to use a clear zip bag (like the one you get when you buy a comforter or similar) to stow all their clothes, diapers, etc. in the same piece of luggage with the car seat... We didn't want wheels since our hands are already full pulling our wheeled luggage and pushing the stroller. So the backpack design was perfect. I wouldn't want to hike the Grand Canyon carrying it on my back, but for the walk to the ticket counter it was fine. Backpacks that are designed to comfortably carry heavy loads long distances are hundreds of dollars. I think this bag strikes a good balance between cost and comfort. Caution - I knelt down to the floor to get something out of my suitcase and almost toppled over like a turtle! The car seat is so large is definately affects your balance. There is no sign of wear following our first trip with it. Construction seems sturdy and it is well paded. This review is from: Safety 1st Aerolite Travel System, Orion (Baby Product) This is a great travel system because its VERY light compared to other systems and the car seat goes up to 35 lbs.! The colors are lime green and brown (a bit brighter in person~and trendy for mom) and the fabric is soft yet easy to wipe clean. The size of the system is also great for small cars (we have a Honda Civic). Also, when the stroller is folded up, it is so much smaller than other ones I've seen. To me, this makes sense over the Graco 32 and 35 Snugrides because it is less money, not nearly as bulky (stroller and carseat are lighter and more narrow), and the fabric can be wiped up right away (plus, its really cute). The basket under the stroller is plenty big, and the cup holders are always nice. I also like how the car seat handle is shaped. It is curved so you can fit it nicely in that nitch by your elbow, and the actual handle isn't so wide making it really easy to get a good, comfortable grip on it. I love it! The car seat, so far, has the tallest shell, out of infant carriers. It was extremely easy to install in my Sienna with latch. The strap adjuster is in the front and it's very easy to adjust. I had no problems with the chest clip. Very, very easy. This carseat would be wonderful for preemies or smaller infants too. The car seat itself is plush and soft, unlike other brands which seem to have no padding at all. The only cons i have for this product is: Carseat canopy is too short. You would probably have to add a small blanket to keep the sun out of their eyes. Stroller closes down, but does stand upright on it's own. Stroller canopy is also shorter than on other brands. These are minor and arent deal breakers for me. The car seat is extremely safe, which is why i bought the travel system. Dh liked the stroller b/c its smaller than full size strollers. My 2.5yo... One hand does the trick. The colors are gorgeous! Easy to clean material. Very cushiony too in comparison to other systems. Cons: The back wheels are kind of hard to lock in. The carseat is very bulky. When I place it on a shopping cart, I have to stand on the side of the cart to see where I'm driving. However, it is very lightweight :) The size is good in a way because it provides additional protection for the baby, but it barely fits in my car with the base(Ford Focus). It is very easy to install though. These are minor things that don't bother me so much. I still love it! I would absolutely recommend this product to people with a larger vehicle than mine. The facet seems to work well for a girl as the blue is more of a turquoise color than a definitive blue (we'd like to keep it for our future children, so we picked the most gender neutral color). Also, my husband said the extra base that is ordered separately is easier to install than the one that comes with the system. Here are the pros and cons as I view them: pros: -This system is easy to figure out, even for someone as mechanically disinclined as myself -The wheels have held up against soft dirt, loose rocks, and bumpy asphalt thus far with no problems -The umbrella on the seat can be moved from up by the head to down by the feet, which is a great help with the sun (the umbrella on the stroller does not do this) -The seat fits in most shopping carts, and even "locks" onto some carts as it would in the car seat base -The carryall at the... It has held up pretty well and she will outgrow the height of the chair before the weight, lol. The seat and base are very easy to install and the stroller is easy to operate. I would recommend buying the cushioned strap covers from Walmart or where ever as the harness can rub the side of the neck a bit. It is a little on the heavy side and the stroller is wide when rolling through door ways and narrow crowded spaces, but the steering is very easy and smooth. I get a lot of compliments on the color and design. The materials are sturdy and solid. I have not found a way to remove the stroller tray and the leg clearance is small so as she grows we will need to buy another stroller probably as her legs won't fit even though she is long and lanky and will not have out grown the weight rating. It was easy to assembled and we really like the way the stroller folds, it seems to save space in our little car trunk. My baby wights about 25 lbs and he is 30.5 in tall, if we would of gotten the car seat that goes only up to 22 lb he would of outgrown it since he was 6 months; so, I'm glad we made the choice to go big because we'll use this one at least an other 3 or 4 months (he has only 1.5 in to grow before we need to change) I'm a little disappointed on the cushioning of both the stroller and the car seat, they are super hard and I don't think that my baby is very comfortable when we go out on trips or for rides I would of gladly paid an other 20 dollars to have better cushion on the travel system.
