I am of the opinion that this car seat would be perfect for a boy or a girl. It's really cute. I weighed this car seat and my regular Graco Snugride (up to 22 lbs)car seat. There is less than one pound difference between the two car seats. The Snugride 35 is only a tiny bit heavier. The size between the two is very comparable, I can't see any difference. This car seat has three sets of strap holes along the back whereas the regular one only has two sets. The Snugride 35 is compatible with my old Graco Stroller, but not with my old stay-in-car seat base (for the regular Graco Snugride), which makes sense. The regular Snugride seat base is designed to hold lighter weights, and I'm sure wouldn't be able to hold the heavier weights that the Snugride 35 seat base is designed to hold in the event of a car accident. My son was born in November and even during the cold months he managed to sweat like the dickens in this car seat. As for lugging it around, I am so over it now that my son is 6 months old and am looking to transition to a convertible car seat. Also, don't buy this car seat thinking you're going to get a lot of longevity out of it. My son is nearing the height limit at 29 inches - the seat only goes to 32 inches. Though he's only 18 lbs, I envisioned this seat lasting quite a while. For people considering the 22lb Graco snugride I cover some of the features of this model: GracoPedic foam, a weather boot, an infant head support, harness covers, and front adjusting harness straps. My wife and I chose the 22lb over the 30/35lb because we were told that babies tend to outgrow an infant carseat because of their length rather than their weight. So although the 30lb seat allows for 8 more lbs of baby it only allows 1 extra inch of length. The base was very easy to install with the LATCH system and we had no problem adjusting the straps for our tiny 5lb baby on our trip from the hospital. So far our baby has loved the carseat and I would highly recommend it. We wanted a color that would pair nicely with the Graco Snugrider stroller frame, and this works brilliantly. The photo makes the light color look almost silver though, when in fact the seat is black with a khaki/beige accent color. I expected that from other reviews I've read, and it's still neutral and sharp looking, so we don't mind. Once we received it, the seat was easy to install in our vehicle (Latch system) and the sun shade was really the only item needing assembly. (That took about five minutes.) I have 2 in black and one in grey. The seats are cushioned very well and just took a very long trip with my 2 year old and he never complained! Im not sure what the other reviews were in reference to the buckles being an issue. Its possible that it was just that seat. Mine are fine on all 3 seats! Perfect Slim line seat especially when you have multiple carseats installed! I've had issues getting other car seats to tighten and always have to have my husband help install seats so he can tighten them down properly. Not with this seat. The secure latch click, click, push was easy breezy. My son seems very comfortable and this seat should be the last one we need. I do wish it had infinite slide harness, so you didn't have to re-thread to adjust the strap height, but with how easy it is to install it's not a big deal. I haven't had any issues with the buckles, it does need firm pressure to release the crotch strap, but I see this as a positive so little fingers won't be able to undo the harness themselves. Especially for the price, this seat is a winner. I have a gmc envoy I had no trouble what so ever with the installation! quick and easy!! the person that said it moved more than an inch I placed me knee in the car seat and applied my weight so that the latch buckles tightened up i had no problem w the legnth of the teether strap placed it under and thru the head rest to the latch in the cargo area with plenty left. i hv a safety first in my other car which was double the cost of the evenflo tribute dlx car seat that was in the envoy And i cant stand it. I love the Evenflo car seats I rate the tribute and the secure kid 400 with 5 stars!!!!!!
